Dementia Friendly @ Work, a Virtual Reality experience
FamilyMeans is excited to share their virtual reality experience as is a way to connect businesses to what it may be like for a customer living with a dementia diagnosis. This training will help everyone in your organization understand the basics of dementia. You’ll get tips on making your business safe, respectful, and welcoming for people living with dementia. Worksites will develop an appreciation for simple changes that can be made in their environment to better support employees and customers that they serve.
Objectives for this business training:
- Build knowledge and awareness about dementia diagnoses
- Gain empathy and consideration how you serve customers
- Learn effective communication techniques and maintaining the dignity and respect of your customers
With increased awareness and confidence, employees can provide the good customer service everyone hopes for, and people with cognitive challenges especially need.
Bio
Jenny is the Caregiving and Aging Community Educator at FamilyMeans in Stillwater, MN. She is responsible for community awareness and education classes. She facilitates support groups and is a Powerful Tools for Caregivers facilitator and Master Trainer. Jenny has educated thousands of Twin Cities metropolitan area caregivers in their workplaces and community settings, using both evidence-based and original curricula.
