About Us
The Friends in Need Food Shelf has served the communities of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, and Grey Cloud Island since 1992. They are passionate about offering bountiful amounts of fresh produce, along with milk, eggs, deli, dairy, meat, and toiletries, along with non-perishable items. They have an Emergency Fund program, which assists clients with one-time financial aid such as car repairs, prescriptions, glasses, etc. They have a School Supply Giveaway in August and a Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway in November. Families can get help with Christmas through our Share the Joy program. FIN has over 170 incredible volunteers who help with food distribution, interviewing, reception work, stocking, unloading trucks, special events and many more jobs.
Friends in Need has an Oktoberfest Fundraiser at the Historic Hope Glen Farm each fall and the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is a community fundraiser that supports FIN each December.
FIN is grateful to the St. Paul Park Refinery and the extremely generous community that has supported them for all of these years.
Feel free to contact the Director, Michelle Rageth, at (651)458-0730 for more information or if you would like to volunteer.
